» mimi804 - tombs

Suzanne,
When I was in Rome the tour guide talked about the Etruscans who were in Tuscany before the Roman Empire was built and how they were eventually overrun and absorbed into Roman life.
There has been a recent flurry of books written about Tuscany. I have wistfully read a few hoping to vicariously visit there once again. There were ancient underground tombs to walk into (if you're brave enough) and explore. I think not all of them have been excavated. Maybe in the future we may know more about them and the culture who built them.
