You guys are talking about one of my favorite topics! Florence (major part of the Tuscan city-state during the Renaissance) today, has the most and best-preserved Renaissance art in the world, thanks largely to the philanthropy of the Medicis. Take that, Borgias of Rome!  Jen

Paintings and illuminated manuscripts only go so far when describing how Europeans dressed in that era. --Stan
